Road of Blog - 3

There is debate to be had how often a blog needs to updated. A regular update schedule can create habits and routine, something that people need for consistency, security, etc. People like repetition and find safety in it. The way I see it, it also acts as a limiting factor and stress factor. Like many things, it seems like a give and take having a routine. Long winded way to say, I'll probably try to update at least once a week, but no more than every other day. Giving myself some leeway in punctuality is something seemingly comfortable for me. I eventually plan on doing a Road of Music roads blog as well. I am currently 5 days out from a live performance at the restaurant I work at. To give a little backstory, music has been a hobby of mine since a young age. I've performed various instruments as well as sang in front of an audience many times. As much of a rockstar I make myself out to be, it really doesn't get any easier to stand in front of people and do something I e...

Road of Blog - 2

Is it money I'm after? Why did I start a blog? I think it's important to clear out such thoughts from my head as the content creator in this scenario. Sure, I believe it would be nice to generate income from a blog, but let's look at reality. What are the odds this will ever generate revenue? I won't state a number, but I would wager the odds are probably abysmal. So no, I didn't start this with a financial incentive. Then what am I after? As I stated in the first post, as well as briefly in the second post, I don't have a destination set. Other's often perceive me as confident, defensive, scheming. Or maybe that's my delusion. I can't speak for others except for what has been spoken. I see myself as a twisted, cynical homunculus.  ho·mun·cu·lus /həˈməNGkyələs,hōˈməNGkyələs/ noun a very small human or humanoid creature. It is not up to me how others perceive me for that is not my place nor my right. I try not to care how others see me, but it's d...

Road of Muay Thai - 1

At some point in July of 2020, I made the decision to learn martial arts. I had spent a good portion of my life up to that point being a fan of MMA(Mixed Martial Arts) and other combat related sports. Why specifically mma? I had several reasons for this.  My sister's husband, who at the time was only a boyfriend to her, exposed me to the UFC(Ultimate Fighting Championship) back in 2010s. The UFC being the premier mma event to be broadcasted on tv.  My mother was and still is a big fan of K1 and Pride, both being a combat organization, now consumed by the UFC, but in it's hay day was the premier kickboxing/mma organization through the 90s.  My close friend being a student of the game and current practitioner which served as a mutual interest for our friendship. Why specifically July of 2020 I will cover a little later. When I started, I had already been a fan of the arts for over a decade on and off. I was definitely no stranger to it, nor the concept and theory of fightin...

Road of Blog - 1

Unfortunately, this is the first post. Meaning that this is the road to blogging. I personally have no experience with blogging and have extremely low expectations. What I do expect is some inner reflection to be had by taking up this challenge.  So what is blogging? Ironically close to bragging, but a form of content in text format. Unlike articles, blogging doesn't necessitate a particular purpose or goal or narrative. A bit more free form expression about anything. Or maybe nothing. You could say freedom to do whatever, but freedom has it's costs contrary to western beliefs. They say that the best things in life are free, but they also say everything has a price.  With a candid heart, I conclude this first post. The intention of this is uncertain at this time, however the goal is to have multiple roads. One for each and every one of my interests that I feel deserves mention, written out for anyone, more likely no one, to read.
